Mind the Gap: A Data-based World View

If you haven’t yet discovered Gapfinder.org, check it out and you’ll find great data and examples of data visualization as well as a fascinating series of “myth busting” videos. One of the more interesting explores the news reports-per-death ratio of H1N1 flu vs. tuberculosis. Another presents 200 years of economic and public health history in about 4.5 minutes.

There are great lessons to be learned in how you frame the story you want to tell and how you present the data to support your points.
