Beyond Hot Spotting the Top 1%: Health Care Analytics Takes Action

IIA’s Health Care & Life Sciences Analytics Research Council (HARC) has published new findings on how predictive analytics can be applied at a health plan/managed care level. With an emphasis on the extraction of actionable information from evolving data resources, the opportunity to provide the right members with the right service at the right time increases. The brief “Using Advanced Analytics to Take Action for Health Plan Members’ Health” is authored by Dr. Stephan Kudyba, Thad Perry, and John Azzolini.

HARC uses an experience based research approach to uncover “what’s working” in analytics among payers, providers, and pharmaceutical companies. The council addresses how analytics impacts vital topics such as accountable care, patient safety, financial performance and R&D.
