Dwight is President of WayPoint Health which provides consultation to organizations on healthcare analytics to improve business decision making, engage customers/patients to produce health, and dramatically improve the financing and delivery of healthcare. He is a guest lecturer at Duke University Fuqua School of Business, Adjunct Professor at Suffolk University Sawyer Business School, and Lead Faculty for the healthcare industry at the International Institute for Analytics. He has worked in corporate settings, most recently as Global Leader for Business Analytics and Optimization for the Healthcare Industry for the IBM Corporation and previously as Director of Healthcare Information at GTE (Verizon). He worked in government to bring an analytics focus to healthcare reform for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, to bring research to action at the Agency for Health Care Research and Quality, and to promote the importance of performance measurement and national priorities at the National Quality Forum. He contributed to national health reform at the Jackson Hole Group and the Foundation for Accountability and has numerous publications in Health Affairs and other journals. His most recent publications include “The Value of Building Sustainable Health Care Systems: Capturing the Benefits of Health Plan Transformation” (IBM Center for Applied Insights Publications), “Building Organizational Capacity: A Cornerstone of Health System Reform” (Health Affair) and “Patient Centered Care as Public Policy: The Role of Government, Payers, and the General Public,” a chapter in the book Putting Patients First (Planetree Press).
