Position Summary

The International Institute for Analytics (IIA) is seeking candidates to join its Research team.

The Data & Analytics space is a dynamic field, with a competitive talent market, rapidly changing technologies, and high expectations for contributing to an organization’s performance. Organizations have invested heavily in this space as they seek to use data to gain a competitive advantage. As the space has grown, the amount of noise in the market has grown as well. IIA helps organizations cut through this noise by providing actionable, practitioner-focused advice so organizations can grow in their analytics maturity.

A key service of IIA is the Research & Advisory Network (RAN). As part of this service, Research Professionals work directly with clients to support and manage their research topics. In this role, you will design and facilitate customized research solutions based on client needs, creating innovative solutions on each client assignment, leveraging IIA’s practitioner-focused library and Analytics Expert Network.

Specific Responsibilities Include (But Are Not Limited To)

Contribute to our Client’s Success through a Partnership Mentality

  • Learn our clients' industries, organizational dynamics, and challenges.

  • Own and take responsibility for multiple complex clients by serving as a thought partner to design and deliver on curated consultations, creating innovative knowledge solutions for each client inquiry.

  • Facilitate timely educational interactions between our experts and our clients, to permit our clients to make informed and confident business decisions and avoid pitfalls.

  • Assist clients with using our library of frameworks and research briefs, guiding them to the content applicable to their challenges.

  • Deliver world-class client service marked by high levels of responsiveness, accuracy, insight, urgency, attention to detail, professionalism, initiative, follow-through, and enthusiasm, and serve as an example of excellence in client service to others within IIA.

Improve the Research & Advisory Network Offering

  • Suggest new products and services that will lead to growth in usage and revenue from your clients, and work across IIA teams to bring ideas to fruition.

  • Establish and foster strong relationships with IIA’s primary asset, its experts, both by bringing new experts into the IIA Analytics Expert Network and by identifying appropriate and meaningful consulting opportunities for them.

  • Contribute ideas for IIA proprietary content that will assist our clients and help them further their initiatives.

Collaborate with the Broader IIA Team

  • Meaningfully contribute to the efforts of IIA’s Client Success team to grow revenue through the expansion of existing business and pursuit of new business.

  • Contribute to key strategic initiatives.

  • Work collaboratively with other parts of IIA to grow and promote client relationships.

  • Identify and share trends in the Data & Analytics market.

An Ideal Candidate Will Have The Following

  • Bachelor's degree or higher.

  • A willingness to proactively engage with our clients, and navigate ambiguous situations.

  • A desire to continually learn about the data and analytics field as well as our client’s organizations.

  • Passion for solving complex analytics problems and executing best-in-class customer service.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated commitment, judgment, maturity, and intensity; ideally in a fast-paced, multi-task-oriented environment.

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a professional client-facing role (internal or external), knowing how to navigate a complex enterprise environment.

  • Experience in data, analytics, research, or related discipline.

  • Experience with, or willingness to learn, IIA’s internal tools: Salesforce, Notion, Google Workspace, and others.

  • Preference for candidates based in Portland, OR.
