The IIA AI Readiness Assessment (AIRA) gives data and analytics leaders a competency-based view of their organization’s ability to adopt and deploy deep learning and generative AI technologies. Built as a natural extension of IIA’s long-standing Analytics Maturity Assessment, the AIRA focuses on the organizational conditions that determine whether AI can be deployed safely, effectively, and at scale.
Deep learning and generative AI share a set of complexities including black box behavior, deployment risk, internal skills expansion, trust and toxicity concerns, and challenging risk and reward profiles. The AIRA evaluates readiness across these dimensions through a detailed model covering 55 core competencies, spanning strategy, risk, data, technology, use cases, economics, demand management, privacy and security, integration, and human factors. The result is a practical, evidence-based baseline for planful adoption, ready-or-not adoption, or discovery-oriented exploration when the organization simply does not know what it does not know.
